Houston, Texas was once an unincorporated town in East Texas, now it is the 4th largest city in the United States. It is the largest city in the great state of Texas.  Houston has served as a hub of industry, commerce, and exploration for Texas as well as the world.

Since its beginning, and continues to do so. A worldly sophistication has been added to the city of Houston because of its importance in world commerce. Considered by some as the New York City of the Southwest, creativity and the arts have found a home in this vibrant city. Jones Hall is a wonderful testament to all that is Houston sophistication.

Winner of the prestigious Honor Award presented by the American Institute of Architecture, the building is a work of art unto itself. Its striking and unique design captivates an entire block of fashionable downtown Houston. Standing in the exact spot of the original Houston auditorium, the Hall was a gift from a prominent son of the city of Houston. Jesse Hall felt that Houston needed a new opera house. In 1966 Jones Hall was completed and Houston had a new opera house and so much more.

The venue is home to the Houston Symphony and the Houston Society of the Performing Arts. The Hall hosts a number of pop music, and theatrical events, as well. The venue displays a number of civic art pieces, and a sculpture of Gemini II, encompassing the entire Houston and Hall experience. The venue offers a seating capacity of nearly 3,000 providing an intimate experience of the performing arts.

Once the curtains fall, the venue's other opportunities are revealed.  Event planners, catering, and the Encore café can make a corporate or personal gathering an event or gala. An immense stage will accommodate most any of those functions.

Jones Hall is a jewel that seems to suit the fancy of anyone visiting this gem of a city known a Houston.
